Black Alumni Advisory Council (BAAC)

What is BAAC?

The Montclair State Black Alumni Advisory Council will bring together Montclair State graduates who are of African descent in the Diaspora, connecting them to their alma mater and engaging them in preparing today’s students for academic and career success. Their inaugural gathering took place on campus during Homecoming 2021, providing an opportunity for alumni to come back to campus to reconnect with the University and with each other.

Mission

The Black Alumni Advisory Council was created to engage Black alumni in support of the Montclair State University mission of educational, institutional and overall university community initiatives, policies and activities that strengthen relationships with the Black community and promote social justice, equity and inclusion among alumni and students.

The Black Alumni Advisory Council (BAAC) brings together Montclair State graduates who are of African descent in the Diaspora, connecting them to their alma mater, building and strengthening the alumni network, and engaging them in helping to prepare today’s students for academic and career success. Your gift to the BAAC Initiatives Fund will enable the BAAC to develop programmatic opportunities to build a vibrant and supportive alumni network. Please know that gifts of any size make a big impact on our students!


Join Me with $83

The Council is undertaking an exciting initiative - growing The President's Club, the leadership giving society representing donors giving $1000+, with 100 new black alumni donors. The Council’s Join Me with 83 initiative is leading the way for philanthropy among alumni. A generous gift of $1,000 ($83.34 dollars monthly) or more brings membership in The President’s Club. You can change the trajectory of a student’s life by putting a rigorous, challenging education within reach, regardless of financial circumstances. Your generous annual gift is greatly appreciated by our students and college community.
