The BKMBUW Scholarship Fund was originally established in 1997, followed shortly by establishment of Yovnello and Nunn awards. The Scholarship currently honors Catherine A. Becker, James P. Keenen III, Joseph T. Moore, Kenneth H. Brook, Anita E. Shia, and Connie Waller, all former faculty and active union members, as well as Nicholas C. Yovnello and Ellen Kearns Nunn, all of whom were deeply committed to the principles of collective bargaining and to helping our students who demonstrate a significant economic need. All full-time undergraduate students in any major, who will be enrolled this coming fall, and are in good academic standing (2.75 GPA or higher) are eligible for one of the program's $500 awards. The Nunn award is reserved specifically for students who are single parents.
In addition, the BCoMSU (Bloomfield College of Montclair State University) Scholarship Award is reserved for a Bloomfield College of Montclair State University student who is (a) an immigrant, and (b) qualifies for or is enrolled in the DACA program.
