The Office for Hispanic Initiatives, established in 2018, is dedicated to upholding the university’s allegiance to promoting an inclusive environment to support the success of all Hispanic/Latinx students, faculty, staff, and communities, as a leading Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) in New Jersey. The office is led by Dr. Katia Paz Goldfarb, Associate Provost for Hispanic Initiatives and International Programs. Some of our initiatives include:
Hispanic Student College Institute (HSCI), an immersive college preparedness summer institute for high school rising juniors and seniors that focuses on the college application process, transition to college and academic success. Learn more about HSCI here.
Hispanic Heritage Month - With our campus partners, we offer a calendar of in-person and virtual events for Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15) for the Montclair community. See 2023 highlights here.
Partnerships with organizations including HACU (Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities) and the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey (SHCCNJ).
