As Acting Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics, it is my privilege to connect with alumni and share how we are making an impact – and empowering students to make the most of their education.
Thanks to support and generosity of our donors, Montclair State University continues to deliver rigorous programs and life-changing opportunities. Some of the exciting developments at the College of Science and Mathematics include:
- Expanded hands-on, experiential learning opportunities: Innovative programs are connecting students to experiences beyond the classroom, including:
- Science Honors Innovation Program (SHIP), a two-year, faculty mentored research program resulting in a 100% success rate in graduate school or job placement.
- Green Teams, a summer internship program where interdisciplinary student teams provide sustainable solutions to client problems posed by partnering multinational corporations and businesses.
- Building and program enhancements: After a complete renovation, Mallory Hall will reopen in Fall 2018 as the new home for Computer Science and Math Education. It will provide state-of-the-art computational resources for our students and a home for our new degree in Data Science. We are also in the planning stages for upgrades to Richardson Hall to provide enhanced STEM lab, classroom and study spaces.
With thanks,
Lora Billings
