Montclair State University has a long history as a dominant force in NCAA Division III, and a building block of that history is Montclair’s recognition of the critical role that Sports Medicine and the health care profession of Athletic Training plays in the prevention and care of sports-related injuries. The Montclair Athletic Training and Sports Medicine staff has a tradition of providing quality medical care for the student-athletes at MSU. We recognize each injury as an important moment in an athlete’s life and aim to educate them about their injury as well as return them to play. Our team of medical experts include sports medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, primary care physicians, podiatrists, hand specialists, dentists, chiropractors, and various other medical practitioners. The staff Athletic Trainers are also proud to serve as a clinical site and preceptors for the MSU Athletic Training Education Program. This program provides AT students with a well-rounded education, while providing ample opportunities for instruction and interaction from a team of athletic trainers, sports medicine physicians, physical therapists and other specialists. Students are prepared for careers in an expanding field that unites athletics, medicine, and health care.
