The Montclair State men’s basketball team had one of its most successful seasons in program history this past year, finishing with an overall record of 25-3. We were crowned the NJAC Regular Season Champions for the second consecutive season after a 17-1 conference record. We remained ranked in the D3Hoops Top-25 national poll for the entirety of the season, including a #1 overall ranking in week 10 and week 11. With a National Power Index (NPI) in the top 15 in the nation heading into the NCAA Tournament, we were selected to host the first two rounds of the Division III tournament for the second year in a row. We finished the season ranked 8th in the nation in points per game, 1st in the nation in three pointers made, 1st in the nation in assists per game, 2nd in the nation in three-point field goal percentage, and 8th in the nation in forced turnovers. Our coaching staff was selected as the 2025-26 NJAC Coaching Staff of the Year. Individually, senior Jacob Morales was a First Team All-NJAC player and NJAC Player of the Year, an All-Region and All-Metropolitan selection, and an NABC 2nd Team All-American. Sophomore Kabe Goss was selected to the 2nd team All-NJAC and 3rd team All-Metropolitan. Additionally, freshman Cristian Nicholson was an All-NJAC Honorable Mention nominee. The future is also bright for us as we will return key contributors in all positions, as well as a talented incoming recruiting class.
