As Dean at the College of Education and Human Services, it is my privilege to connect with alumni to share how we are making an impact –and empowering students to make the most of their education.
Thanks to support and generosity of our donors, Montclair State University continues to deliver rigorous programs and life-changing opportunities. Some of the recent exciting developments at the College of Education and Human Services include:
• Earning High Marks - A testament to Montclair State’s growing national and state reputation as a research doctoral university, our online Master of Arts in Educational Leadership program has been ranked No. 19 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. The University moved up from its 2018 ranking of #21.
• Newark Public Schools, Montclair State University, and American Federation of Teachers Launch New Jersey’s Largest Teachers Academy as a Model to Grow Teacher Pipeline and Address Teacher Diversity - The Teacher Education Academy will prepare Newark Public School students for careers in education and create a pipeline of diversity in education to reflect the state of New Jersey and the nation. The Academy will also create an environment that makes a teaching career in education a destination for high school and college bound students.
• Nutrition and Food Science Graduate Students Named Finalists in Prestigious Product Development Competition - As this graduate program is fairly new, this is an incredible achievement and the competition included the most prominent Food Science Programs from the Land Grant Universities with long-established programs. The students will present their final proposal of the product at the upcoming Institute of Food Technologists 2019 Annual Meeting (#IFT19) from June 2-5 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
