Below you will find answers to many common questions about Montclair State Gives.
What is Giving Day?
Now in its fifth year, Giving Day is an annual university-wide, one-day fundraising event. This year, Giving Day looks different. This is an unprecedented time for the world and our community. We are asking Montclair State alumni and friends to come together to make an impact for our students. Now, more than ever, many of our students are relying on our support through the Montclair State Student Emergency Fund to continue their education as we weather this crisis together. Your gift to the Montclair State Student Emergency Fund supports emergency scholarships and ensures that our students have access to laptops.
When is Giving Day?
Giving Day 2020 will take place on Thursday, March 26.
Why should I participate in Giving Day?
Your support on Giving Day shows our students that we are a community that will rise to the occasion to support their success. Together we can make a difference! Every gift, large or small, makes a difference.
What other ways can I get involved?
Help us spread the word by becoming a social ambassador! Use your social media channels to help reach out to fellow Red Hawks. Click here to become an ambassador! We are also asking our alumni and friends to come together during this time to share a message of encouragement for our students. Post a short video, photo or written message on social media using the hashtag #MontclairStateCares to offer your words of encouragement as we unite to show our students that they are surrounded by a strong, supportive community committed to their success.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. The stated amount of your gift qualifies as a deductible charitable contribution. No goods or services were provided in return for your gift. If you make a donation, you will receive a receipt via email.
Can I make a gift via check or another method besides credit card?
Online gifts made via credit card have an immediate impact at Montclair State. By making your gift using our secure, online portal, your gift is also automatically counted into our campaign totals. However, if you prefer to mail your gift, please make checks payable to the Montclair State University Foundation, 1 Normal Avenue, Montclair, NJ, 07043. Please write Giving Day and include the designation in the memo line.
What will my gift support?
This year, due to the circumstances and how the current crisis is affecting our campus, we are asking for support for the newly created Montclair State Student Emergency Fund.
